About Transportation
Types of Transportation
Firstly you will have two questions: "Where shall I go?" And "How can I go there?" In Myanmar, there are two major types of transportations: buses and taxis. You can go anywhere by them. So we would like to explain the bus and taxi systems and charges in detail.
There are many kinds of buses, and their names are categorized by townships' names. In roughly, buses can be divided into two types: Normal Buses and Special Buses.
Destination and Bus-Stop
In both types of buses, the bus-conductors say loudly the destination and the name of the bus-stop through their way. So you have to know some popular places and their bus-stops' names.

About Charges
Charges for Special Buses
The charges for the Special Buses cost 300 Ks or 200 Ks. If you use the Special Buses from the starting bus-stop to the last bus-stop, you have to pay 300 Ks for charges. If your destination is halfway point, you have to pay only 200 Ks for charges.
For example: the way from the "Sule"(Sule bus-stop) to the "University of Computer Studies Yangon(UCSY)"(Computer University bus-stop). "Sule bus-stop" is the starting bus-stop, "Computer University bus-stop" is the last bus-stop, and "Insein Park bus-stop" is the halfway point.
If you go from "Sule bus-stop" to "Computer University bus-stop", the charge costs 300 Ks.
If you go from "Sule bus-stop" to "Insein Park bus-stop", the charge costs 200 Ks.
If you go from "Insein Park bus-stop" to "Computer University bus-stop", the charge costs 200 Ks.
If you go from "Sule bus-stop" to beyond "Insein Park bus-stop", the charge costs 300 Ks.
If you go from other stops coming before "Insein Park bus-stop" to "Computer University bus-stop", the charge costs 300 Ks.
But when you use the Special Buses, you have to pay 200 Ks for charges even if you want to go from any other stop to the next bus-stop.
Charges for Normal Buses
The charges for the Normal Buses cost 200 Ks or 100 Ks. If you use the Normal Buses from the starting bus-stop to the last bus-stop, you have to pay 200 Ks for charges. If your destination is halfway point, you have to pay only 100 Ks for charges.
For example: The way from "Bo Ta Htaung Pagoda"(BoTaHtaung Pagoda bus-stop) to "Insein Park" (Insein Park bus-stop). "BoTaHtaung Pagoda bus-stop" is the starting bus-stop, "Insein Park bus-stop" is the last bus-stop and "Hledan" is the halfway point.
If you want to go from "BoTaHtaung Pagoda bus-stop" to "Insein Park bus-stop", the charge costs 200 Ks.
If you want to go from "BoTaHtaung Pagoda bus-stop" to "Hledan", the charge costs 100 Ks.
If you want to go from "Hledan" to "Insein Park bus-stop", the charge costs 100 Ks.
If you want to go from "BoTaHtaung Pagoda bus-stop" to beyond "Hledan", the charge costs 200 Ks.
If you want to go from other stops coming before "Hledan" to "Insein Park bus-stop", the charge costs 200 Ks.
But when you use the Normal Buses, you have to pay 50 Ks for charges even if you want to go from any other stop to the next bus-stop.
Charges for Taxi
For Taxi charges, we can negotiate with Taxi drivers. The charges aren't stable and they aren't decided according to the distance. So it is difficult to explain Taxi charges exactly. But we can explain Taxi charges from Sule to some popular places roughly. The taxi charges can be estimated by the following table.
